Get started

Bugoro is a mobile QA loop on GitLab. Testers report from the device, a Duo flow opens the fix MR, the fix comes back to the same phone, and every release is checked for Google Play.

What you need

  • A GitLab project on GitLab 18.10 or later, with the GitLab Duo Agent Platform, and the Maintainer or Owner role on it.
  • An Android app built with Gradle, with a minSdk of 24 or higher.
  • A Linux host with KVM and Docker, for the emulator farm and the CI runner. The Hub runs there too, or in Coolify.

The path

Follow the pages in order. Each one ends with a link to the repository doc it summarises.

  1. Self-host Bugoro (about 1 to 2 hours)

The emulator farm, the CI runner and the Hub, on a Linux host with KVM.

  2. Add the Android SDK (about 15 minutes)

The QA build reports bugs; the release build ships nothing of Bugoro.

  3. Add the CI components (about 20 minutes)

QA builds, Before/After screenshots, the Play check and the size guard.

  4. Turn on the Duo flows (about 15 minutes)

qa-fix, release-readiness and size-fix, and their service accounts.

  5. For testers (about 2 minutes)

Pair a phone, report a bug with a long press, verify the fix.
